A FEW QUICK POWER SAVING TIPS

We are ALL at home a lot more than we ever expected – here are some practical power saving tips to hopefully help you avoid the shock of an increased power bill.

  1. Aim for moderate cooling temperatures when using an Air Conditioner. 24 – 25 ideally. It doesn’t cool down any quicker turning it down lower!
  2. Avoid Electric Radiators for heating – they’re expensive to run and there are far more energy efficient Reverse Cycle Air Conditioners to do the job.
  3. Consider ceiling fans for creating a breeze.
  4. Try using a Clothes Line instead of a Clothes Dryer for drying your washing wherever possible
  5. If your Hot Water is excessively hot, we may need to reduce the temperature setting on your thermostat – it may be heating the water far more than it needs to. That’s expensive
  6. How long are those showers going for, keep an eye on that, the longer spent in there the longer the heating element takes to reheat it. Consider multiple occupants
  7. Turn off items that don’t need to be on standby
  8. Turn off lights once you have left the room. Motion sensors can help to automate this process.
  9. Install intelligent lighting. LED globes are far more energy efficient and last longer. Lamps could also be used instead of room lights when possible.

We hope you find some of these tips helpful.
